The Caregivers’ Club

Melville is thrilled to be hosting a free public screening of the documentary The Caregivers’ Club on May 25th at 7pm Please pass this invitation on to any friends and family who may be interested.

The Caregivers’, Club is a feature documentary about family dementia caregiving directed by Cynthia Banks and produced in association with CBC.
The Caregivers’ Club follows four Canadian families over the course of a year through their daily struggles of caregiving for relatives of dementia with hope, love and laughter. The stories shed light on the forgotten roles of the caregiver both in caring for loved ones and accompanying them through institutional life.
Their experiences take you beyond the practical problems of navigating the healthcare system, and into the psychological challenges of coping with the deterioration of their loved ones. These shared journeys are inspiring to the increasing number of Canadians who will be forced to experience caregiving as Canada’s population ages.
